The next Brothers in Motion will be ******* SATURDAY, MAY 25, 2013 ******** Manila Bay Cafe 4731 Grand River (corner of 14th) DETROIT, MI $10 in advance As ALWAYS, this show will be TO CAPACITY!! We are VERY excited about moving to a NEW VENUE!! NEW SPACE, NEW OPPORTUNITIES, NEW ARTISTS, DIFFERENT BLACK BUSINESS OWNED GALLERY, DIFFERENT ENERGY. Life is always made to ROTATE.<3 If you have never been to a B.I.M show, go over to our fanpage, http:/facebook.com/brothersinmotion and prepare yourself to be FLOORED. The photo albums will EASILY show you just how dope EACH AND EVERY LAST SHOW IS!! All of them are not even posted. ART, DANCE, POETRY, FASHION, MUSIC, CULTURE, VENDORS, LOVE.<3 ART- there is ALWAYS absolutely STUNNING art in EACH SHOW. Not only are there artists who frequent multiple shows, such as kalonjiasad, Lawrence X Banks, Detroit Bleu, but they ALWAYS feature NEW artists!!! DANCE- each and every show has different dance acts. From interpretive to afrikaan to belly, it is always a diverse mix... POETRY- One of my favorite parts of B.I.M besides the visual art is the live poetry and spoken word. Black Tie Collective, Lite Shineth, Claretha Peace Robinson, Thomas Williams, and a LOTTTTT more have performed some of their BEST work.<3 FASHION- each show highlights different fashion designers in our city in what happens to be one of the biggest parts of our bi-annual shows!! One of the biggest to date was Alannah Coleman, who went SUPER hard on this past show in December.<3 MUSIC- There is ALWAYS live music!! Singers, drummers, djembe, congas, flutes, sax, horns, and whatever other instrument Detroit Bleu pulls out of his pocket lol.<3 CULTURE- With our shows, culture is ALWAYS evident. From the time you walk into the door, you know that THIS show is gonna be a little bit ELEVATED. The energy in the room is ALWAYS full of high vibration and raised frequencies. You are always gonna have a wonderful time. One thing we always include is something different in each and every show to teach something of our history as well as our FOUNDATION and FUTURE. This past show, Yon taught the audience of what we refer to as Chakra or "singing" bowls.<3 VENDORS- Yep. ANYTHING i participate in, you KNOW there is gonna be an afrikaan marketplace, lol. EYE N EYE, all day, folks. In order for our community to grow, we have to BE a community, right?? To get to that level, we MUST support afrikaan/black/moorish/ businesses, ESPECIALLY in our OWN city. We ALWAYS have WONDERFUL vendors!! ALWAYS!!! for our 3 year anniversary, we went IN when it came to the vendors, lol. Black comic books, sweets, crochet, jewelry, body products, poetry, and more!! LOVE- that is ALWAYS evident at our shows. This is a FAMILY not an organization. We talk together, grow together, BUILD together. THAT is why EACH AND EVERY LAST SHOW is successful.<3 Hope to see you all in May.<3 If interested in hanging art, dancing, performing, VENDING lol, etc, Please contact Maia 'CROWN' Williams, Amonyet Enterprises BROTHERS IN MOTION, Executive Assistant http://amonyet.weebly.com [email protected] (313) 451-0297 Nathaniel 'KALONJI ASAD' Muhammad BROTHERS IN MOTION, Co-Founder, CEO http://facebook.com/brothersinmotion [email protected]
